Port
St Francis has completed its revamp of all the units and they are now
decorated with a coastal theme. The Port has received a "Resort
of International Distinction" award from RCI at their annual awards
ceremony held at Vodaworld in Johannesburg on the 10/02/2003 "for
achieving standards of excellence in resort accommodation and hospitality".
Congratulations are in order and well done to those who have worked
so hard in making this possible. Clem Sunter was the guest speaker and
he spoke of how the tourism industry is benefiting the country. Cape
Town has seen unprecedented growth and is now listed 5th on the "places
to visit before you die" list.
Big Bay Beach Club will be undergoing a revamp and all the "softs"
will be replaced this year. The decor theme will be similar to that
of the Port as it is also situated on the ocean front. The development
of the greater Big Bay area is now well under way and various parcels
of land are up for tender. The demand has been spectacular and the prices
reached for individual erven are already approaching the millions as
are the many magnificent homes currently under construction.
Acumen Property Developers are listed and will tender for a parcel of
land but it seems that current prices being fetched could hinder timeshare
development. Foreigners have caught on to the glorious weather our country
offers (compare an average of 8.5 hours per day in SA versus 3.6 in
London) and not to mention the favorable exchange rate which are driving
the housing market in this "the best kept secret in the world".
